FAQs

What is CWCF?
Covenant Word Christian Fellowship is a non-denominational Word of Faith church founded by Pastor Samuel Goodman and is pastored by him and his wife Noelene Goodman.

What makes CWCF unique?
CWCF Church adheres to a unique philosophy of ministry. Our Sunday service present the timeless truths of Christianity in a way that impacts people in their lives today. No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, you can grow in your understanding of Christianity at these services. In addition, we have home small groups called “Covenant Groups’ that are designed for people who wish to develop their relationship with Christ through worship, communion, and in-depth biblical teaching. Covenant Groups meet in homes throughout the community, fostering relationships and spiritual growth.

What will the service be like?
Worship, drama, media presentations, contemporary music, and practical messages are all elements of Covenant Word Christian Fellowship weekend service.
Our worship services are based on the scriptures. Here are Bible answers for some of the most often asked questions:

Why does the whole congregation pray at once for specific needs?
When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God. “Sovereign Lord” they said, “you made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and everything in them” (Acts 4:24).

What can CWCF do for me?
CWCF provides a safe and loving environment where you can worship, fellowship, learn and grow in the teaching of God’s Word. CWCF will seek to offer a range of services to meet the needs of members and people within the community.

How can I get involved at CWCF?
By attending our Membership Class and signing our membership covenant, which includes a commitment to support the vision of CWCF.

How do I get connected at CWCF?
Held monthly, Newcomers’ Connections meet on Saturday afternoon, one hour before the Worship Service. The Newcomers’ Connection is a great way to start to connect with people from CWCF, including the leadership team and other newcomers. At the Connection, you can ask questions, get a better understanding of the church’s ministries, discover serving opportunities and much more.

The Newcomers’ Connection is your way to find out more about CWCF and get connected with the people and events of the church. Call for information on the next class.

Why does CWCF have small groups and how do I get connected or attend a Home Group?
CWCF will have small groups called ‘Covenant Groups’ for the purpose of extending love and compassion to people all round the city and connecting people and changing lives.

God’s word exhorts us to “love one another”, to “pray for one another” and to “build up one another”. Small groups offer us a better opportunity to fulfill this calling as we form close relationships with each other, pray for one another’s needs and ultimately help each other to become mature disciples of Jesus Christ. (See Acts 2:42-47)

To get connected call our church office at 519-650-5842 for details.

What is CWCF’s philosophy on missions?

CWCF’s goal is to penetrate every segment of the community. Reaching people to Jesus and making disciples is a command that the Bible has given us and we are determined to fulfill the Great Commission with an emphasis on market place ministry, local and global outreaches.

Will there be any room for the ARTS in CWCF?
CWCF believes in the full expression of worship, whether it is through music, drama, the arts and choreographed dancing to the Glory of God.

What kind of music will I hear when I come to your church?
Since our culture is so diverse CWCF will have a variety of music that ranges from hymns, gospel and contemporary music that brings Glory only to God.

Where does the ministry money come from?
From the donations of people just like you.

When are your services?
Sundays at 10:00 a.m. and Wednesdays at 7:00 pm.

Do you have services for children? What about care for infants, toddlers and preschoolers?
CWCF has a growing kids ministry called CWCFKidz that will let kids ages 12 and under have fun while being taught the fundamental principles of Christianity. Bible truths coming to life through upbeat praise and worship, puppet shows, drama and games.

CWCF will offer distinct age-level programs, all in a safe and fun environment. While you attend CWCF’s weekend service, your children – infants through fifth graders – will participate in fun, age-focused learning and interaction!

Covenant Word Kid’s Ministry offers:

            Friendly faces greeting your kids

            Fun toys and activity stations

            Great friends

            Caring teachers and leaders

Drama, music, video, puppets, games, and more.

Learning about Jesus in a way that they can understand, no matter their age.

What about teenagers?
Teens in grades 7-12 can indulge in the performing arts, snacks, upbeat praise and worship and life changing messages from our youth leaders. Call the church office for dates and times.

Why do I need to belong to a church?
This is a question people often ask. A church is more than a building; it’s a family. When you’re hurting, when you’re in need, when you’re discouraged, where do you go? You go to your family. We are to fellowship with those of like precious faith (2 Peter 1:1). And as we do, we are blessed, others are blessed, and the will of God is accomplished in the earth.

Tell me something about your pastor!
Samuel P. Goodman is the pastor and founder of “Covenant Word Christian Fellowship’. His wife Noelene, who co-pastors with him has a heart to see women come into their destiny in Christ. Pastor Goodman completed his ministerial studies with Supernatural Ministries Training Institute in the USA. He served for four and a half years as Church Administrator for a large ministry in Phenix City, Alabama. Pastor Goodman also graduated from his advance ministerial studies with Ottawa School of the Bible, a ministry of the Life Centre Christian Fellowship in Ottawa, where he also served as Home Cell and Care Pastor for 3 years. Pastor Goodman plans to pursue his Master’s Degree with Wagner Leadership Institute.

He loves to preach and teach the Word of God and believes it is the roadmap to success in life. Pastor Goodman has been in fulltime ministry for over 15 years. He is ordained with Open Bible Faith Fellowship.

Who is CWCF affiliated with?
CWCF is affiliated with Open Bible Faith Fellowship (see http://www.obff.com/).

I’m from another church – am I welcome to visit CWCF?
Yes. We recognize that we are part of the Body of Christ at large and love to have members of other churches come and visit. We simply ask that you let your pastor know that you are coming and that your attendance doesn’t compromise your commitment to your home church.

How do I become a member of CWCF?
We believe that membership is more of a matter of function rather than title – it is when you embrace what God is doing in CWCF and in your heart become a part of it. We ask that all ‘members/partners’ of CWCF support the vision, our core values and regularly attend weekly services.
